Jacques Seligman & Co.,
705 Fifth Avenue,
New York City.

Dear Sirs:

I am in receipt of your letter of April 25th signed by a name that I cannot read.

The understanding, as expressed in your letter, is correct, that you take no responsibility whatsoever for either of the statues of my brother. I appreciate the courtesy extended in connection with the exhibition. I talked the matter over with your Mr. G. Seligman just before he sailed and I decided to do nothing until I heard from my brother. He will probably see him in Paris.

Yours very truly,
