This communication draws attention to the fact that the footgear of the American Indians,in the areas occupied by the Latin American race^[[,]]to wit; Middle and South America in aboriginal times, had two toe^[[-]]strings^[[,]]while in post-Columbian times the type of sandal has come into vogue which was first introduced from Egypt and the Orient into Spain in the [[circled]] 8th [[/circled]] century^[[,]]and from Spain and Portugal imposed upon the American tribes.
