Messrs. Jaques Seligmann & Co.,
705 - 5th. Ave.
New York, N.Y.

Gentlemen:
Some time last fall the writer showed you an Italian jewel of the 16th. century, representing a Siren, done in gold and enamel and precious stones, attributed to Benvenuto Cellini or his school.

You did not seem to be highly impressed by the article at the time but I wish to state that since that we have received documents from the previous owners, testifying to the genuiness and antiquity of the jewel.

The writer's brother, who is an engineer, also tells us that he knows of family heirlooms of great value which the owners would like to dispose of without exposing themselves to unnecessary publicity.

Enclosed please find a translation of the document pertaining to the jewel. If you are interested the writer will be pleased to bring the Jewel and original document for inspection.

It may be of advantage to you to visit the writers brother whenever you get to Naples. His address is:

Signor Michael Wachter,
Ex Tiro a Segno. Naples, Italy.

Trusting that we may hear from you

Yours very truly
