Mrs. S. Wells,
12 East 62nd street
New York

Dear Madam,-

Upon my arrival in New York the day before yesterday, I have been told of your recent inquiry for an antique French bed, also for a day bed.

We have just brought over quite a number of pieces of furniture of very fine quality, which would no doubt interest you greatly. Among them is a day bed that I would enjoy showing you. I have also the photograph of one of the finest beds known, covered with beautiful point de Hongrie of the Henri IVth period, which comes from the Royal Castle of Pau, France, and it in remarkable condition. This bed is now at our Paris galleries.

If convenient to you, you might perhaps let me view the house you are going to move in, so as to enable me to make some suggestions, especially if you intend to furnish some of the rooms with French 18th century furniture, with which period we probably are more acquainted than New York or English decorators.

I will take the liberty to call you up to find out what you have decided on the subject.

Pray believe me,

Yours very truly,

(Germain Seligmann)
