STOWE'S PRINCIPAL

Dr. Ruth M. Harris

Dr. Ruth Miriam Harris has served as principal of Stowe since 1940, and has filled other positions in the school since 1924. She was chairman of the faculty committee which directed the college from 1934 until she was named principal.

A community-minded citizen, Dr. Harris is often called to address civic and educational groups, to serve on panels and on advisory committees. She is a member of the Mayor's Committee and the Nationary Committee on Negro Education.

She is a member of Phi Lambda Theta and Kappa Delta Sororities.
