The Women's Athletic Association

The Women's Athletic Association is one of the most active organizations at Stowe. Its many interests are represented by teams in basketball, volley ball, soft ball, table tennis, badminton and hockey as well as by groups in dancing and horse back riding.

Among its other activities is the annual presentation of two gala affairs: the Christmas and the St. Patrick's Day parties.

Each spring, a group of energetic young women compete with Lincoln and Fisk Universities in soft and volley ball games.

The Women's Athletic Association is one of the oldest organizations at Stowe Teachers College. It was organized in 1931 under the sponsorship of Miss Clayda J. Williams. Its purpose is to promote physical fitness and endurance, and develop a sense of fair play.
