"Miss Homecoming"

Mary Quinones was crowned "Miss Homecoming" at the Homecoming Ball, November 22, 1944.

Miss Quinones' sale of $2034.25 in war bonds and stamps entitled her to this honor as first among ten candidates.  Runners-up were Marion Simpkins, Dorothy Snipes, Ruthie Hart, Lorene Pleasant, and Gloria Getter.  Total sales reached in this effort were $10,103.05.  

Beta Tau Omega Service Sorority sponsored the Homecoming Activities.

The "President" and "First Lady" of Stowe

The "court of honor" pose during intermission at the annual spring prom held last June at the Municipal Auditorium.

Maxine Caldwell, a charming young lady who proudly accepted the title "First Lady of Stowe", is a sophomore II student.  She is a member of the Badminton Team, an Ivy Leaf, vice-president of the Library Club, and a member of the Yearbook Staff.

Houster Grey, "President of Stowe", is also president of his class.  A graduate of the Easter School of Music, he is prominent in music circles serving as organist for his church in Festus, Missouri,
