BIRMINGHAM CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
BIRMINGHAM 3, ALABAMA
[[/preprinted]]

March 26, 1953

Dr. F. G. Patterson
President
Tuskeegee Institute
Tuskeegee, Alabama

Dear Dr. Patterson:

As you leave Alabama where you have served your people in the cause of education so ably for many years to assume a position of national importance, please permit us to express our regret at your leaving and assurance that you will meet the challenge before you in the same manner you have mastered your problems at Tuskeegee.

On behalf of the Participating Members of the Retail Division of the Trade Development of the Chamber of Commerce we wish you Godspeed and every success in your new venture. The people of Alabama are much richer for your having been here and we share with the other thousands of friends in the state the understanding of your desire to be of even greater service to your people.

Cordially yours
