MACON COUNTY BOARD of EDUCATION
OFFICE OF
THE SUPERINTENDENT
TUSKEGEE, ALABAMA

April 16, 1953

Dr. F.D, Patterson, President
Tuskegee Institute, Alabama

My dear Dr. Patterson:

I am very much concerned regarding the status of the Rural Extension Office in the very near and distant future.

You are called on annually to reinstate the budget for this office.

At the present time the Macon County Board of Education is providing the necessary or replacement equipment and all office supplies as promised. Very recently the Macon County Board of Education provided a filing cabinet and a typewriter in keeping with their promise to replace worn out office furniture and equipment.

I am asking that you use your influence in maintaining sufficient salary for a part time student helper for the Rural Extension Office.

I think I have discussed at length with you my reason for requesting that the present relationship now existing between Tuskegee Institute and the Rural Extension Office be maintained.

Respectfully yours,
