[[underlined]] Reference book.[[/underlined]] - In connection with the regular museum register, I have introduced a reference book, into which are copied from letters, all items of interest in regard to single specimens or to collections.

[[underlined]] Loan book. [[/underlined]] - In the loan book a record is kept of specimens loaned to the museum for exhibition, examination, or for having casts made.

[[underlined]] Exchange book. [[/underlined]] - In [[strikethrough]]which[[/strikethrough]] ^[[this]] a record is kept of specimens sent to individuals, museums, etc.

b. [[underlined]] Work on reserve series. [[/underlined]] - The reserve series of specimens are placed (when possible), in trays and drawers underneath the exhibition series.

c. [[underlined]] Work on exhibition series. [[/underlined]] - The work of marking, mounting, and the preparing of labels for specimens, was done by Mr. E.P. Upham, assisted by Mr. H. A. Parker.

d. [[underlined]] Distribution of duplicates. [[/underlined]] - In April, 1882, a collection of duplicate casts of flint implements, celts, grooved axes, pipes, tablets, boat and bird-shaped articles, sculptures, etc. - 27 objects in all - were sent to Major B. Perley Poore.
