County, Illinois, sent by Mr. E. C. Brown, as mentioned in this report, have been put on exhibition on Case 60.

A collection from Perry County, Pennsylvania, presented by Mr. W. C. Brown, and one from Northumberland County, in the same state, received from Mr. G. W. Emrick, as stated in the present report, have been placed on exhibition in Case 82.

Two trays, one containing flakes, rude and leaf-shaped implements, scrapers, and arrow and spear-heads, and the other a number of chipped flint objects, constituting a deposit, the contents of both from the vicinity of Fort Ancient, Warren County, Ohio, and collected by Dr. A. M. H. De Haas, have been placed on exhibition in Case 60.

1329 specimens of stone implements, etc., collected under the auspices of the Bureau of Ethnology during the fiscal year ending June 30, 1883, were transferred from the New Museum to the Smithsonian building.  They have been placed temporarily under table-cases, but will be assorted and exhibited early this year.

Four boxes, containing Californian specimens collected during the Wheeler survey, were received in this department, but could not be opened for want of time.
