Japan, etc., and a very good representative series of prehistoric antiquities from Europe.

During this year several cases containing ethnological articles have been emptied, and their contents transferred to the Department of Ethnology in the new Museum. Some, however, are still filled. I would specifically recommend the removal of the collection of modern Japanese objects deposited by General Capron. These articles are very valuable, but totally out of place in a hall devoted to the exhibition of antiquities.
