ALBERT ABEL BASIL CHARLES, B.S.,
"BASIL"
British Guiana, S.A.
Kappa Pi (Hon.)

Here is a sure entry for "Who's Who" in five years. So far his story goes, Mahaica Roman Catholic School, 1908-15; primary scholarship winner, 1916; first class honors, Senior Cambridge examinations, 1920; winner of Queen's College scholarship, 1920; awarded prizes in classics and mathematics, 1921. Kappa Mu, honorary society, Howard College, 1924; Kappa Pi, 1927; served terms (not time) as treasurer and vice-president of South American Club. He expects to interne at Freedmen's and practice in Ohio, specializing in genito-urinary diseases. The boys say Basil is egotistic, but as Terry says, "Be conceited," what they hell, anyway.

Sir Oracle: He was like a cock who thought the sun had risen to hear his crow.

WILLIAM MONTAGUE COBB, A.B., "MONTY"
Washington, D.C.
Omega Psi Phi, Kappa Pi (Hon.)

Following rotation, extension, and restitution, this little skull--subsequently answering to the name of "Monty" Cobb--presented itself to the world some 24 years ago, with little idea that he would become the scientific inventor of "Obstetrical Diapers" and "Labor Accessories," and would be dubbed the class genius of 1929.

The local schools of Washington gave him his first strain of cortical neuroglia. He showed great promise in the Dunbar High School and attained great laurels at Amherst, both in scholarship and athletics. His track and boxing gave him great stamina for throwing the "bull" through medical school. Sometimes "Monty" would study medicine, but most of the time his activities would be divided among leading the professional chapter of his fraternity ('26, '27, '28); managing the frat basketball team, '26; attempting to be an actor in "Charlie's Aunt"; managing the Francis Swimming Pools, '28; and keeping the imaginary moneys of the class, '29. Professor Cobb, the embryologist, as he has been known since our senior year, will interne with "Paw" Warfield and after passing the Michigan board, will attempt to learn something about Obstetrics and ophthamology. We think he would make a good psychiatrist. A man of hope and forward-looking mind.

WENDELL PHILLIPS COLLETTE, B.S.,
"NEBBY"
Norfolk, Va.
Omega Psi Phi

After a close race, Nebby wins over Blanchet in the genu valgum contest. He worked up to us via the S. C. Armstrong Grammar School in Norfolk, St. Paul Normal, Lawrenceville, Va., and the "Hill". Like all our Tidewater boys he is good natured. He does not believe that hurrying ever gets one anywhere, and so never does. When he has interned at Providence in Baltimore, you can look for him as a gynecologist somewhere in Pennsylvania.

One of our Question Marks!

Here is the perfect story book type. The tall, handsome, dashing college pitcher whose mighty arm turned back the Japs who had conquered Harvard, Yale and Princeton, enters medical school and marries his school day sweetheart from across the continent. He is a true gentleman of leisure by nature and unfitted for work by gift or inclination. In his past history he admits having been to the State Normal School, North Carolina, and to have been manager of the Howard baseball team, and a member of the University Band. He is a past master at looking wise in class and will beat Gandy down any day that Suffolk is farther north than Petersburg. He will interne at Freedmen's, and after a few years you may look for a prosperous surgeon somewhere in the west.

Our own "Bert Williams." Just plain funny.
