CARSON CARL JOHNSON, A.B., "IKE"
Baltimore, Md.
Phi Beta Sigma

Though thoroughly harmless, "Ike" is inclined to pugnacious manners, that is when he can find a tall stool to climb upon so that you can see him. He came to us via Meharry after having successfully weathered Baltimore's public schools and Lincoln, where he was a member of the Beta Kappa Chi science club. In 1925 he was the little member of Sigma's Big Five at Meharry. Like Dutch, he has a weakness for pinocle, but alleges he can also play checkers, a thing unconfirmed. Carl is returning to the home town to practice. He will interne there at Providence and later specialize in diseases of the chest.

Our own "Runt." Brevis primus.

EDWARD SYDNEY JONES, "E.S."
Dominica, B.W.I.
Omega Psi Phi, Kappa Pi (Hon.)

Ed is destined to be a very valuable citizen, having already seen much and put most of h experience to good use. His early education was obtained at Pointe Michel Government School in Dominica. He was later an honor student at Mico Training College in Jamaica before coming to Howard. Campaigning as a sergeant under Alienby in Egypt and Palestine during the War, he developed into quite a photographer, and we still like his pictures. On the "Hill" and while with us Ed has been a factor for good in the International and Caribbean Clubs. He likes gynecology and expects to follow this line in Virginia after interning at Freedmen's.

Say, when are you going to happen?

MAJOR OSCEOLA JONES, "CHUBBY"
Brooklyn, N.Y.

Chubby is the only one of our number whose three dimensions are approximately the same, though we feel that with the prosperity of the coming years his antero-posterior diameter will gain a slight advantage. Commercial High, N.Y. and Columbia prepared him for us. Here he had become a fixture in White Brothers' orchestra with his array of wind instruments around him. "Mojo" has a car and the recklessness with which he drives through traffic and anything else that gets in his way, shows that the gauntlet running abilities of his famed and valiant Indian ancestor Osceola, have not been lost. He will be a G.U. and "pinocleitis" specialist in Brooklyn after leaving Freedmen's.

Spiritus Frumenti. The "5" and "10" law expert.

CHARLES HENRY KELLEY, Jr., A.B., "KELLEY" "EGO"
LaGrange, Ga.
Omega Psi Phi, Kappa Pi (Hon.)

This "deep looking papa" girls, is the mighty Kelley of Morehouse. What! Hadn't you heard? He generally claims to have "no time for foolishness" (so little flappers, it's no use), but we do recall his arguing at some length once at the frat house with "Cute" on the affirmative of "Resolved: That Kelley is greater than Carter." Charley has been athletic enough to be quarterback on our class team, anatomical enough to be student assistant in anatomy sophomore year and scholarly enough to become president of Kappa Pi. He will interne at Freedmen's but has not revealed to us what profound endeavors will subsequently occupy his time.

"When I speak let no other dog bark."
