Tom Thumb Wedding

On March 14, 1951, there was a combined fashion show and Tom Thumb Wedding presented by the Birney Kindergarten Mothers' Club. The wedding was a superlatively staged affair; the little girls exquisitely gowned, and the little boys in impeccable formal attire. The gowns were designed and made by three of the kindergarten parents-Mrs. Angela Adams, Mrs. Martha Alston, and Mrs. Nettie Johnson.
