Mr. Valentine E. MACY, Jr.
Hôtel Plaza Athénáe
25, avenue Montaigne
[[underline]] PARIS [[/underline]]

My dear Mr. Macy,-
I wish to acknowledge receipt of your most kind note of July 10th. and, in reply to your father's request, I am enclosing herewith a letter addressed to him.
It is upon my return from the little journey I have invited you for, that I got your note, and I must say that I regret not having had your company; I am sure that you would have indeed enjoyed it. I saw several very interesting stone carvings, some of which I hope to be able to purchase in the near future.
I cannot enough tell you how appreciative I am of the terms of your letter; I am perfectly delighted and feel proud if I have really added to the pleasure of your visit to Paris, as you so charmingly express it.
Will you kindly remember me to your dear family, and pray believe me,

Yours sincerely,
