WORCESTER ART MUSEUM
[[underlined]] WORCESTER, [[/underlined]] Mass.

Dear Mr. Stone,

When I had the pleasure of making your acquaintance last year at your Museum in Worcester, I remember telling you of the very great interest we were taking, my father,-i.e. Mr.Jacques SELIGMANN - and myself,in the development of American museums.

We wish both to-day, by a very small present, to show you that we are glad also to contribute to the formation of your Museum and take great pleasure in presenting you with a small Italien bas-relief of the 15th. century, one of our last purchases.

You probably know that my father is amongst the benefactors of the Metropolitan Museum, and we are particularly pleased to send you this work of art as a token of admiration for the astounding work that you have already accomplished, and as an encouragement for the future.

Will you be so kind as to explain to the Director of the Worcester Art Museum that the reason for my not writing to him direct is that I have not had yet the privilege of meeting him, and that we are therefore asking you to deliver him our message.
