G. K. Green, New Albany, Ind. Dec. 15/88.

Some ten years ago he purchased a collection from a young man, who procured them at Clarkesville, in the adjoining county, and among them was a bluff colored chert (impure jasper) implement of t this pattern, only larger---6 or 8 inches in length 5 in width, with large flakes extending from each side to near the center, having a good edge and well defined groove for the attachment of handle. It was in his collection for about 5 or 6 years, but disappeared very mysteriously.

Has some hammerstones, &c., will send if we desire, also some bones.

Wants a report on Alaska.
