[[a line runs down the center of this page]] I could not get out again until nearly 4 P.M. Went to [[?Baughn's]] grove (at brickyard) and collected plants in the woods, and also in the [[scafy?]] boggy places on banks. Also picked up a few land shells. Was out with Ed White. Also recorded weeds in a cornfield & along the roadsides. Returned in time for supper, & in evening arranged & pressed a package of plants, & prepared them for shipment. Went to bed after midnight.
