Cut 9 is just beyond old & new RR crossing. [[top part of mound]] 2 1/2 ft Drift [[left bottom section of diagram of mound]] 10 ft. Reddish [[right bottom section of diagram of mound]] [[/image captions]] This cut is about 200 yds long The yellow loess is of the heavy type & contains many nodules & shells scattered all through. This is cut on E. side. On W. side cut is lower, but shows Drift, yellow loess, & at N. end a pocket of gray loess. [[end page]] [[start page]] [[vertical line on left side of page]] Cut 10 is to be cut abut 14 ft - It is now about 6 or 7 & shows only drift and about a foot of top soil, & on E side. Cut 11- also shows on E side only, & is like 10. It is located ^[[at a point]] just before new RR tracks to west of old. Cut 12 is a 1/4 mi. E of road and is almost all on W. side The lower part is a heavy joint clay with few pebbles - Eastward it shows calcareous pebbles in normal Kansan fashion for this part of state. Looks usually westward The line above is nearly horizontal & somewhat laminated, then comes loess which is quite
