Then I went to school.

March 26, Tuesday.
This morning before breakfast I went down in the fields. Many Robins had come in the night. Fiske's meadow was full of them in company with many Meadowlarks. I had more trouble than ever in getting into the woods. The Tree Sparrows were more numerous than before. went home by way of Suley's Marsh. There were a few Red-wings here and many more Tree Sparrows.

March 28 Thursday.
This morning the river was so high that I could not get anywhere. After breakfast I went up by the railroad bridge. Went along the bank this side of the bridge. There were a number of Song Sparrows here. two sang very queerly.
Juncoes were thick. They sang all the time. Thier song was [[underlined]] sweet sweet sweetsi ty [[/underlined]] repeated and two trills. One would give the three one after the other with drooping and shaking wings and
