It was good of you to clear away the matter in which Fred Moran was interested, and I am glad that the improvement in copper saved a margin for you. The little I had to do in the matter was trifling and I hardly merit the appreciation you so thoughtfully sent in your letter.

The weeks of the summer past here have brought great piles of quiet charm and such amount of increased strength as the Gods have cared to kindly grant me - for it all and for more I am truly thankful. As you sagely wrote "The summers fly", but to me, the last, as many before, "flew by on wings of butterflys".

I hope that I ^[[shall]] have the pleasure of seeing you in Detroit ere long - about October 1st -

Always affectionately yours
Charles
