Messrs. Vincenzo Marcopoli & Co.,
Aleppo, Syria.

Gentlemen:-
Your valued letter of September 23rd, addressed to Mr. Charles L. Freer, was received and opened by me in Mr. Freer's absence in China. Let me thank you for your kindness in sending Mr. Freer the three photographs enclosed therewith.
I note from your letter that you have forwarded to Messrs. Parke, Davis & Company, London, for Mr. Freer's account, twenty-eight (28) pieces of pottery in four (4) packages marked "C.L.F. No's 1 to 4", and I have this day written to Mr. Fred. M. Fiske, of The Parke, Davis & Company, London, stating that you made this shipment about September 23rd and requesting him to forward the potteries to America as soon as they reach him. Immediately upon their receipt in Detroit, I will advise you, and they shall be kept safely stored and in the original cases, until Mr. Freer's return.
In a day or two I shall be writing Mr. Freer, at Peking, China, and will have pleasure in forwarding to him a copy of your letter, together with the photographs, and, as stated in his letter of August 8th, last, to you, you will doubtless hear promptly from him upon the receipt of your letter. It will, of course, take some little time for my letter to reach Mr. Freer in China.
Very truly yours,
(Signed) George W. Alger
