Acc. 23582 --- Geo. R. Merrill, Grand Rapids, Mich ---
A human skull (Indian) with three holes ^[[1/4 inch diameter 1/2 inch apart]] drilled in the top.  ^[[each being countersunk.]]
  
"The skull was exhumed by Isaac M. Bates and myself June 17th 1888, in Detroit, Mich. two miles west of the City Hall, on lot No. 928, River Road (between 21st & 24th Streets).
At the same time we found another perforated skull and two [[strikethrough]] which w [[/strikethrough]] unperforated, apparently those of squaws; one of which had no sagital suture, consequently having but one parietal bone.

With the skulls were found bones heaped [[underlined]] en masse [[/underlined]] - some of which were wanting - indicating that at some time they had been reburied."
Among the bones were two humeri with perforated olecranon
