I am surprised by the relatively few comfort and/or displacement activities performed by this animal.

It was obviously upset by my presence, probably more alarmed than aggressive.  But by means very upset or frightened.  Fed from time to time.  Uttered quite a lot of MGB's.  No other display patterns.

It tended to walk round and round the cage, following a definite set path.  Relatively very few deviations.  And the few comfort and/or displacement activities it did perform tended to occur always in the same places.  All the chewing on side cage, for instance, occurred in the same corner of the cage (the one farthest away from me).  Most of the scratching movements occurred when the animal was near the side of the cage nearest the other caged Capuchins (about 30 ft away).

This animal may already be creating new "traditions".
