There were many specimens, weighty and bulky, which had been placed in the interstices about the heaters, on the window-sills and about the floor, some of them under the Pueblo models. The rearrangement of the cases and the removal of the Pueblo models from my hall, required their disposal. Some of these large and heavy were broken or damaged, largely duplicates of well known specimens, with a few from localities unknown; while others, equally heavy and bulky, were well known but have not been studied, figured or reported upon, and are of considerable value. A separation was made on the lines above indicated. The forst-mentioned class was made into sets or series, each series containing a selection of the different implements and objects made as complete as circumstances permitted. Some of these series required two boxes, while later ones required but one. Twenty-eight of these boxes were filled representing twenty-one series.
