The alcoholic collection remains in the same condition as when last reported upon.  The jars for re-packing, and thereby condensing, [[strikethrough]] the [[/strikethrough]] the collection, have been received, but the work has not been begun.  When the series was removed to a new quarter of the laboratory to make room for the [[strikethrough]] [[?]] [[/strikethrough]]storage case for skins,[[strikethrough]] the alcohol was [[/strikethrough]] fresh alcohol was added to such specimens as seemed to need it.  Shelves for the storage of empty jars have been erected and prove a great convenience.

Only an insignificant number of specimens, with the exception of the [[underlined]] Soricidae [[/underlined]], remain unidentified.  [[strikethrough]] The [[?]][[/strikethrough]]  It has been deemed best to postpone the identification of the shrews until the publication of the 3^d part of Dr. G.E. Dobson's work upon the Insectivora, which will probably appear during the coming year.
