A large quantity of pamphlets from cases in adjoining hall have been shelf-marked and some of them catalogued.

One thousand pamphlet binders of various sizes, made by Randolph & Co., were received.   They are admirably adapted for our purposes, and many more will be required.

The comparison of the Library of Congress charge lists has been continued by Mr. Smith.  This work is of pressing importance and will be pushed still further.  The number of charges against us of which we have no record is surprisingly large.

The last consignment of books for the Government Bindery was made September 19.  The work of binding is slowly progressing.

Mr. Marron's time is to be given hereafter equally to the Library and the Label Department;  one-half day to each.
