Report on the Operations of the Dept. of Mammals for the Month of Jan. 1887.

On the 5" inst we received from the Philadelphia Zoological Gardens, a specimen of the rare Red [[underline]] Ouakari [[/underline]] Monkey, [[underline]] Brachyurus rubicundus [[/underline]], a species not hitherto represented in the Collection. The same Establishment sent also the male and female of a species of South American Deer, probably [[underline]] Cariacus gymnotis [[/underline]].

The Inquirers sent out some time since, regarding a Bat which occurs in the Sandwich Islands, have resulted in the acquisition of several specimens. The Bat appears to be the South American variety of our
