By authority of the Assistant Secretary. Mr. F. S. Webster was requested to make an estimate of the cost of putting the material into such form that it can be properly studied, and, if necessary, described.

Mr. F. H. Scott, Taxidermist of Westfield, Mass., presented two mounted squirrels as samples of his work, and for the purpose of having them criticized.

The number of specimens of mammals entered during the month was as follows:
