The records of the collection of mammals made by Mr. E. W. Nelson in Alaska, were corrected from the tables in his report.  The manuscript of these tables passed through his hands and they are presumably correct.

The Curator recommended that the blanks used for reports on specimens sent for examination be improved or abolished.

At the request of the Assistant Secretary, a letter was written to Émile Depolle, Paris, inquiring whether the specimens thus far received were to be regarded as filling the orders sent him
