skulls to special contractors.  The records show that 449 cleaned skulls were returned during the month, or about 17 per diem.  Toward the latter part of the month the clerk reported that it was impossible for her to enter, number, and check off the specimens as fast as received and Mr. Nassau, temporary preparator, was, therefore, instructed to assist her until the accumulated material was worked off.
