number of African mammals, belonging to the Abbott collection, was begun.  On Oct. 27th, Mr. Arthur Hutchinson began work as a volunteer in taxidermy.

The work of entering specimens and cleaning skulls deposited by the Department of Agriculture has progressed steadily.  The number of specimens entered during September and October was as follows:
