I was surprised to find that they made talking pictures of these by having an actor ^[[placed]] behind the scenes recite the drama in the deep peculiar voice which the Japanese always use in dramas. This dialogue helps immensely to the  understanding of the pictures. The audience was mixed men and women. Rained at 10PM, & continued all night steady. I have seen no potatoes or red peppers in the market. There is very little regulation to [[chaufers?]] They are allowed to go at any speed possible, run by motley cars discharging passengers & use either side of a street as suits their convenience. No police regulation of traffic is seen on corners.
