The River at this point has a fine stone sea wall some 12 feet or more in height & from this vantage ground we viewed the bore. Soon after arriving here at 1:30 P.M. the bore was sighted approaching as a white breaking wall of water striding across the river or bay which is here. 6 or 8 miles wide. As it came nearer we could see that this wave way only about 3 feet high but back of it was falling a much greater wall of water which was the real bore.
