Dear Francois Gerard:

I am sending you herein almost by return mail the photograph of the she-wolf. There is in the Morgan Collection a bronze which is about the same subject but it is extremely difficult to judge [[strikethrough]]] either its [[/strikethrough]] ^[[whether it is this]] exact^[[ly same model]] because of the small size of your photograph which I examined with a magnifying glass; also because the she-wolf in the Morgan Collection is photographed from a different angle. The dimensions of the Morgan work is 6-1/2".

Germain remembers vaguely that there [[strikethrough]] was [[/strikethrough]] ^[[might have been]] a bronze of the same type in the Castiglioni Collection in Vienna. ^[[I]] That bronze in principle is of no interest to us. Due to the small dimensions of your photograph it is difficult for Germain to make up his mind whether it is an original or not. May I suggest your showing it to Carl Dreyfus who years ago knew something about [[strikethrough]] it [[/strikethrough]] ^[[Bronzes]].

Please let me know whether they have started paking my stuff. Edna every morning is in a state of nerves when she reads in the newspapers that in Marseilles and Paris things go wrong. Why haven't they started that packing? ^[[earlier]].

^[[Georges went out of town before this letter was quite ready - hence my sending it with my love
Germain]]
