Dear Mr. Peck:

Referring to your letter of November 24, 1947, I am happy to inform you that the painting by Vuillard and the two paintings by Bonnard, together with [[strikethrough]] the [[/strikethrough]] three antique frames finally arrived in good condition.

For accounting purposes I shall be much obliged to you for giving me the details of your Paris charges such as packing and freight concerning this shipment.

You will readily understand that Mr. Germain Seligman was extremely worried about the whereabouts of these three paintings which, according to the above letter, were supposedly shipped by plane on November 24th. For future shipments, I would very much appreciate your advising us by cable should similar delays occur.

Thanking you,

Sincerely yours,

(O. A Liechti)

P.S. On opening the case, I found to my amazement that the packer had omitted to paste the usual paper strips on the glass of the Vuillard. This is really taking an undue chance, and in case of accident would prove very costly not only as far as we are concerned, but also to the packer, who in so far as underwriters are concerned, would be guilty of neglect.
