Dear Mr. Peck:

Please excuse my delay in answering your letter of July 9th, but I had to communicate first with Mr. Seligman on the various points you requested.

Brame- As I cannot find any information on your part how the Manet was exported from France, I am enclosing, as requested, photostatic copies of the consular invoice for the shipment in which this painting was included. (Page three, first item).

In further reference to the two small tables, I am quoting Mr. Seligman's answer: "Re. his letter about two tables -- The situation is the following. As you can see from inventory of personal property - I purchased about five tables from my father's estate (they were in the drawing room at Constantine). Among them - if I remember correctly - are two oval ones with leather tops - these are the ones I wish shipped now. However should there be any doubt in Mr. Peck's mind - he should hold back shipping these tables (without delaying the rest of the shipment), have all these tables carefully photographed to enable me to indicate in a more precise manner which ones these two are - meanwhile the other tables will have to remain safely stored. Please write to Mr. Peck accordingly."

As far as the shipment to New York of works of art belonging to Mr. Seligman is concerned, please do not fail to send all the papers directly to:
