10th July 1935. A fine day for insects, with hardly a cloud, but some at times, & S.W. wind, after a very wet night.

Rode to River Blackwater & went up road on right bank for several miles, collected at roadside where road cuts moraines, then down the river to main road, Co. SK. 10.30 AM till 3.30 PM. 

[[underlined]] Bombus agrorum & lucorum [[/underlined]] a very few seen.
[[underlined]] Andrena coitana [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]] & [[2 female symbols]] very common.
[[underlined]] Halictus rubicundus, freygessneri, & leucopus [[/underlined]] [[2 female symbols]] seen.
[[underlined]] Nomada flavoguttata [[/underlined]] 1 fresh [[female symbol]] at moraine on roadside. 
[[underlined]] N. obtusifrons [[/underlined]] 1 fresh [[male symbol]] by river.
[[underlined]] Megachile willughbiella [[/underlined]] [[female symbol]] carrying piece of birch leaf taken near quay just S. of Blackwater Bridge on main road.
[[underlined]] Crabro varius [[/underlined]] in hundreds everywhere, some [[2 male symbols]] very small.
[[underlined]] C. IV-maculatus [[/underlined]] quite common in several places & nesting on top of ditch by roadside where road-scrapings & sods have [[insertion]] ^ been [[/insertion]] placed on top of stone dykes: some [[2 male sybols]] with quite black abd. 
[[underlined]] C. dimidiatus [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]], one all black abd. taken.
[[underlined]] C. nigrita [[/underlined]] [[strikethrough]] ? [[/strikethrough]] [[checkmark]] 1 [[male symbol]] amidst a host of [[underlined]] varius [[/underlined]] on hazel where river in close broad, about 2 miles (?) above main road.
