At the time only one ant visible & this a worker of [[underlined]] Lasius niger [[/underlined]], but other ants (F. [[underlined]] fusca, L. niger, M. ruginadis [[/underlined]]) frequent not far away.

23rd. July 1935. Very warm, dull & drizzly all day: hardly a breath of air & everything so dripping that it was impossible to sweep & only occasionally possible to beat.
Very few insects out or about.
Demesne at Glengarriff Lodge, Co. WC. as before.
