8th Sept. 1935. A poor day, blustery in morning, with almost a gale at times from SE, but no rain & almost calm & much warmer in afternoon, after a small depression had passed.

All insects taken by sweeping, mainly under trees on left (W) bank of slade, a few by the river side or on right bank.
[[underlined]] Bombus agrorum [[/underlined]] a few [[2 virgin female symbols]] still busy, mostly at [[underlined]] Scabiosa succisa [[/underlined]]
[[underlined]] B. lucorum [[/underlined]] 1 fresh [[female symbol]] seen on road near Saggart.
[[underlined]] B. lapidarius [[/underlined]] a few faded [[2 male symbols]] seen on [[underlined]] Scabiosa [[/underlined]]
No other aculeates seen but ants [[underlined]] F. fusca [[/underlined]], [[underlined]] M. ruginodis [[/underlined]] & [[underlined]] M. scabrinodis [[/underlined]] 1 [[male symbol]] swept.
[[underlined]] Melanichneumon sanguinator [[/underlined]] 2 [[2 female symbols]] swept, both stung me!

Campoplegid [[female symbol]], red abd., same sp. as taken S. of Bray Head on 1.9.35.
