12th August 1937.  Very hot, but heavy shower at 2:30 did not impress collecting, already spoiled by thunder & very heavy rain on the previous afternoon & evening.

Drove to Lyons House & collected along roadside on Kildare side of road leading to Grand Canal & on Dublin side at Skeagh House in angle of road & canal.

Ditch & plantation belt by Grand Canal, Skeagh House, Co. Dublin.  3.0 till 4.0 P.M.

Crabro sp. seen at logs on canal bank: sp. not noted!
Cratichneumon ? sp. ? 1 [[male symbol]].
Demopheles caliginosus  1 [[female symbol]] on log at burrow of Crabro.
