Proctos, kept. 11 =

31st August 1937 (Tuesday!). An almost perfect day for insects only for a "jam" with heavy rain at about 10 A.M. which lasted about 15 minutes & thoroughly drenched the vegetation - Wind E.-S.E. in Dublin, S.W. in Glenasmole & further inland. After 10.30 no rain, considerable very hot sun, sultry & warm, & owing to S.W. wind great shelter along W. side of the reservoirs. Collected by sweeping & with sucker in four areas:- Glenasmole, Co. DU.
1. Under trees just after rain stopped 10.30 till 11.30 AM on W. side of lower reservoir beside hut; where also I secreted a "trap" (but the rats eat the bait! A.W.S. 19/9/37.) to catch Phorids & their parasites (Aspilota spp.).
