30. 8th August, 1938. Wind alternating W & E! very light. Dull & drizzling all day after we left Tullaghan. Drove via Sligo to Doonee Rock & then round L. Gill, via Dromahair & Slish Wood. Collecting practically impossible, but did a little at Doonee Rock, Do. SL., & took 1 [[female symbol]] Stenichneumon defraudator on wall at Slish, Co. LE. Doonee Rock, shore of L. Gill, Co. SL. 12.30 - 1.30 noon. [Only seven kept & these labelled 14/3/1940! AWS] Bombus agrorum & lucorum seen. Crabro varius several seen. C. tibialis 1 [[female symbol]]. C. chrysostomus 1 [[female symbol]] Pezomachus 1 [[female symbol]]. Alomyia debellator large red [[male symbol, male symbol]] on Angelica. Stenomacrus ventralis 1 [[female symbol]] Bassus "tricinctus" 1 not kept Tryphon elongator 1 not kept. Mesoleptus prosoleucus? 1 [[male symbol]] Campoplegid [[female symbol]]: = ? cf. Angitia sp. with short, stout terebra: put in box next Gonotypus! AWS. 15/3/1940. Aphidius 1 [[male symbol]]. 31. 9th August 1938. Wind having gone E again this was a perfect & very hot day, mainly sunny, with some cloud in afternoon. Spent morning at rock-pools, Bundoran, with Mrs. Morehouse & d. On way back for lunch swept small pool, on edge of "cliffs", in field, 1/4 mile from Bundrowes, in Co. ED. Here took about a dozen specimens, but none kept except:- Zootrephus suspiciosus [[male symbol]] 9.8.38 afternoon. 3.30 till 6.30 P.M. Drove to Streedagh, Co. SL., & collected for about 2 1/2 hours. 1 = edge of dunes & salt & fresh water marsh along estuary E of dunes at Streedagh Point. 2 = edge of field NE of dunes, along estuary. 3 = fields E. of No.1 & N. of road to point.
