122. 3rd July 1940. A windy day (NW) with rising glass, several showers, after a slight depression and some rain at night. Drove to visit Revd. Chancellor S. Ridgeway, at the Rectory, Carlow, with Daisy; Mrs. Ridgeway having been Flora McEachern, of a Scottish family which in the early nineties stayed at Bushfoot for several summers, when I was a "kid". Collected for 40 minutes by roadside almost 2 miles S of Castledermot on outbound journey & spent the afternoon in Oak Park, Mr. Bruen's, just N.E. of Carlow. Drove home via Rathvilly & Baltinglass, leaving Carlow about 6.20 & arriving home exactly at 8 o'clock. Fields, plantation & sunk ditch about 2 miles S. of Castledermot, Co.
