2. 16th July 1941. A fine day, after several poor & dull days with some rain, mainly dull in afternoon, with a few faint whiffs of rain, cooler than of late: wind W. NW. In afternoon rode to Glenasmole, Co DU & collected by sweeping as follows. 1 = flat a head of upper reservoir: 4 till 5 PM. 2 = under tree & along channel & at foot (W. side) of upper dam where outlet is 5.45-6.40. 3 = under trees & along river between Moore's garden & boats & about the stables: 6.40-7.15 4 = under trees S. of & behind the "sun-trap" on West side of lower reservoir: & on lake shore 7.15-7.30 5 = under trees at hut & N. of same, on W. side of lower reservoir, i.e. N. of 4, & on shore of lake opposite hut. 7.30 - 8 0 P.M. [24 from 1 mounted; 29 from 2; 29 from 3; 15 from 4; & 22 from 5; & these labelled 6.12.43 et seg. AWS] Bombus lucorum & either lapidarius (or derhamellus ? see p. 47 →) ☿☿ at 1, but rare. 1 black Sawfly at 3. ?? = Lygaeonematus laricis, if so very late date. Epitomus pygmaeus? 1♂︎ Cratichneumon annulatus 2♀︎♀︎ Stilpnus gagates 2♂︎♂︎, 1♀︎ Actractodes tenebricosus 1♀︎ 3. 16.7.41, cont. Glenasmole, DU., cont. Exolytus 1: not kept.
