Salius fuscus  ♀︎ seen in 3rd combe. 
[No Ichneumonidae seen or swept!]
Dacnusa longiradialis  1♂︎ - ant. 22, swept under trees by small stream near Moore's garden. 
Procto. 1 swept in "willow glade" opposite Moore's.


29th - 31st March & 1st April 1944.
Dry, dull, & cold with east wind, scarcely a blink of sun, with a bad sky & falling glass on 1st April, on which day 1st anthers seen on flower of Carex stricta in back garden against motor-house wall.

1st April 1944
Strong & cold S.E wind with drizzle or rain all day & heavy rain all night.

2nd April 1944. 
Frank G. Winder took a ♂︎ Banchus crefeldensis Ulbricht at 1,000 ft. in Glencullen, Co. Dublin.

2nd April 1944. 

Hot, soft, & sticky with wind SW. - the first day of the kind since January, I think.  No rain from dawn till 6 P.M. then a warm heavy drizzle began.

In afternoon rode to Castleknock & on to Royal Canal where turned E. & home via Ashtown & the park.  Swept a little by two path near Morgan's School, Co. DU., but poor ground & not much seen.

Andrena albicans  ♂︎ seen in garden at 1 P.M.

Saw Bombus hortorum at pink Primrose in back garden in forenoon.  
Daisy reported seeing two Small White Butterflies this day in Belgrave Sq., Rathmines.
