10.6.44, cont. Lyracappul & Corrignabinnia, LK. cont.

on escarpment west of Lyracappul & chiefly between summit & col towards Corrighnabinnia, over which the mist & SE. wind were pouring & evidently bringing insects from the southern slopes. One Swift nearly hit Daisy in head & several came within easy reach of my net when sweeping. Wren & Meadow Pipit the only birds heard singing in coomb around L. Curra & Ring Ouzels not seen today (we were on other side of lake from last day -2.6.44) Heron seen at about 1200 ft in stream bed on way up to gully in forenoon

Lyracappul is really a knife-edge, blunted a bit on top & the col between it & Corrignabinnia is only a few yards wide. It is made of 6 very rotten O.R.S. conglomerate & affords excellent habitats for the rarer plants: also its scarps

Insects taken at 1 (see p. 212): swept on wet plateau overlooking S.E. corner of lake, at ca. 2,000 ft. & a few on slopes above. 
[21 insects mounted from 1 & these labelled 2.1.1947!]

Dolerus aeneus ♀︎ frequent, one taken 
Pachynematus  2♂︎♂︎, one swept on plateau the other seen clinging to rush & captured. 
Diptera 2, red thorax, curious antennae [[image]] [[captions]] black, red arista! [[/captions]] = Loxorena aristata.
Cryptinids  1♂︎ with no trace of aleolar vein = Polyaulon ♂︎ ant. 17.
& 1♀︎ = Phygadeuon sp. ant. 20.
  
Stenomacrus curvicaudalius √  2♀︎♀︎, one with, one without, areolet; antennae (both) 25-seg.
Blacus trivialis?  ♀︎, ant. 17. 
Aspilota nigrescens  ♂︎, ant. 20. A. immitator m. or small surcularia  ♀︎, ant. 15, curved radius therefore more likely surcularia! AWS. 2.1.47. 
Dacnusa cf. areolaris, 1♂︎, 3♀︎♀︎, ant. 22(♂︎), 21, 20 & 19 (3♀︎♀︎)
Aphiduis cf. sonchi?  ♀︎, ant. 16.
