12th June 1944.

A fine day with strong S.W. wind & some slight showers.

Left Aherlow at 11 AM. & rode over Slieve-na-muck ridge to Tipperary - luggage going by pony trap as usual. Caught train for Dublin at Limerick Junct. & home at 8 P.M. - train an hour late owing chiefly to many R.C. schools & colleges closing down early - for which reason we have yet to get information. On way into Tipperary stopped at Mulcahy's plantation belt, as on 22.5.44, & collected by sweeping under trees for half an hour.

Insects taken in plantation belt at Mulcahy's, 12 noon till 12.30, S. of Tipperary, ST.
[25 insects mounted & these labelled on 9.1.1947.]
