A lovely little ♀︎: labelled & put away 12.1.1945! Apanteles circumscriptus ♀︎. Chelonus cf. parcicornis? 1♂︎, ant. 27. Calyptus puber Hal. ♂︎, taken in marsh by river; ant. 31, tergite 3 rugose at apex. Blacus nigricornis m. 2♂︎♂︎, in woods; ant. 18 & 19. Aspilota: a small ♂︎, red tergites 1 & 2, very long 21-seg. ant. cf. tenella miki? A. cf. nigrescens 1 large ♂︎, rather pale legs, ant. 23. Dacnusa pubescens small ♀︎ in lane by river; ant. only 21! D. areolaris group ♀︎; ant. 21; long 2nd discoidal cell; darkish legs,, &c. Oenone hians 2, smooth abd.; ant. both 34. Aphidius cf. ervi? ♂︎, ant. 20. A. cf. sonchi or renominatus? ♀︎, ant. 16. Proctos 5 (all mtd.) = Cynipid 1 (mtd.) = 226. 12th June 1944. A fine day with strong S.W. wind & some slight showers. Left Aherlow at 11 AM. & rode over Slieve-na-muck ridge to Tipperary - luggage going by pony trap as usual. Caught train for Dublin at Limerick Junct. & home at 8 P.M. - train an hour late owing chiefly to many R.C. schools & colleges closing down early - for which reason we have yet to get information. On way into Tipperary stopped at Mulcahy's plantation belt, as on 22.5.44, & collected by sweeping under trees for half an hour. Insects taken in plantation belt at Mulcahy's, 12 noon till 12.30, S. of Tipperary, ST. [25 insects mounted & these labelled on 9.1.1947.] Cryptinids 4: none mtd. Pimpla sp. near flavicoxis ♂︎; ant. 28, red coxae, &c., but pleura strongly sculptured ventrally. Clistopyga incitator ♀︎, examined, but escaped from fingers! Promethes pulchellus ♀︎: not mtd. Cteniscid ♂︎, ant. 27 = Acrotomus succinctus? small ♂︎. Helictes sp. ♂︎: not mtd.
