25th June 1944. 

A dull day, with some showers, S.W wind & falling glass.

Rode (alone) to Blessington & spent day in Glending (the overflow channel on the WI-KD boundary which cuts through the hills just W. of Blessington).

Left home at 10.30, reached foot of Slade of Saggart in just under an hour & Crooksling 17 minutes later;  except for one stretch of 300 yards, which walked, rode to Glending in 2 hr. 10 min. without getting off bike;   had lunch & then collected as follows:-

1 = edges of Kettle-hole (pond & marsh) at N. end of Glending, Co. KD.  1.30-2.30.
2 = N. end of wood on E. side of Glending, Co. WI.  2.30-3.30
3 = Middle & towards S. end of wood, Co. WI.  3.30-4.30.
4 - marshy pond (Kettle-hole) in field 1/4 mile N. of Blessington (on Dublin road) & on E. side of road.  5 - 5.15.

Left station 4 at 23 minutes past 5, reached top of Slade of Saggart (Crooksling) at 5.57 & foot of Slade 7 minutes later & home at 6.33, i.e. 1 hour & ten minutes.
